Welcome to Corey the Human! You might think the name sounds a bit funny. At first glance, I thought so, too. But as time went on and I continued thinking about it, I realized just how important it is nowadays to actually be human! (Especially on the internet!)
We live in an age of unprecedented technological advances. I was born at the tail-end of the millennial generation, so of course I am quite familiar with technology. But even to me, the recent changes have been astounding (and even scary!).
Over the years, I’ve increasingly learned to do my own research. This has led me to gradually improve my information-sifting skills. Something I realized is that much of the information online is often recycled information. In other words, someone writes a blog post with information they acquired by researching other blog posts. It’s a bit frustrating, because you begin to wonder if you’re ever getting original and authentic content!
And now that we have AI on the loose, and quickly growing, we will all soon wonder if anything online was really written by a human being. Well, on this blog you can always trust that a human being is behind the content! I refuse to use AI to write for me, or research any of my information. Instead, I promise to present my human self, however flawed she may be, and all the things I’ve learned on my human journey.
I hope to inspire others to reclaim their humanity, too! There is so much we can do on a day-to-day basis to get back to being human beings. Let’s take that journey together!
Specifically, as this site continues to develop, you can expect to see posts about all the various projects my husband and I have done around our new house, violin-related things (as I’m a violin teacher), and really any cool discoveries I make that I feel are worth sharing. I’m super interested in health and natural living (my autoimmune diagnosis made that quite necessary). I’m also very old-fashioned. So we’ll see what comes of this blog! Thanks for being here!
